August Round-Up!

August has been buzzing at Fight or Flight! Here’s what’s been happening:

Run Club Launch

Mondays just got a whole lot more active! Our brand-new Run Club has kicked off and it’s already proving a brilliant addition to the weekly calendar.

The sessions are hosted by Georgina from GW Fitness, a fully qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer who is there to support, encourage, and guide the group.

What makes the Run Club special is that it’s designed for all abilities. Whether you’re lacing up your trainers for the first time or you’re an experienced runner, each session offers the right level of challenge for everyone. It’s not about racing, it’s about moving together, pushing yourself at your own pace and building confidence week by week.

Most importantly, it’s about community. The Run Club is a space where people can connect, support each other and have a laugh, all while doing something positive for their mental and physical health.

Join us: Monday’s at 6:30pm - Meet at Reigate Priory Cafe

Golf Day

We are counting down the days to our Sold out Golf Day Event on 18th September at Surrey National Golf Course. With over 100 guests attending, it’s going to be a brilliant day of fun, connection and fundraising.

We’re happy to say that all of our hole sponsorships are now sold out, a huge thank you to all the businesses who have stepped up to support us and get behind this event.

The day will kick off with breakfast, followed by 18 holes of golf, with competitions along the way such as closest to the pin. After the golf, guests will be treated to a BBQ and raffle with some fantastic prizes up for grabs.

Most importantly, this event is about giving back. We’re proud to be donating 25% of the profits to The Children’s Trust in Tadworth. They are the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injuries, providing specialist rehabilitation, education and community services. Their incredible team helps children rebuild their lives after a serious accident or illness, offering both medical expertise and emotional support for families. The work they do is truly life-changing and we’re proud to support their mission.

Celebrating Sobriety Milestones

This month, we celebrated two incredible achievements in our community: Mark reaching 5 years sober and Julian hitting 6 years sober. We are so proud of them both.

Sobriety isn’t just about not drinking or using, it’s a deeply personal journey of growth, resilience and rebuilding. Mark and Julian are living proof that no matter how bad things may feel, it’s never too late to make a positive change.

Weekly sessions

Boxing Classes – Our boxing sessions continue to be a highlight of the week, with a minimum of 15 people turning up each time. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming, there’s no ego, no judgement, just people learning new skills, building fitness and getting a proper sweat on. It’s been brilliant to see regular faces improving week by week, as well as new people giving boxing a try for the first time.

Men’s Walk – Every week, the men’s walk provides a chance for people to get outside, connect and talk openly in a safe space. The group has been going strong, and this month we’ve enjoyed the lovely sunny mornings, built each other up and  celebrated some amazing sobriety milestones together. Walking side by side makes conversations flow naturally and the group has become a place of real support and friendship.

Women’s Walk – Taking place every other Sunday, the women’s walk is a smaller group, but no less powerful. The ladies who join always leave feeling a little lighter, both physically and mentally, ready to face the week ahead. It’s as much about the chats and laughs as it is about the steps, and it’s been lovely to see bonds forming among the group.

Thursday Yoga with Cara – Our weekly yoga sessions with Cara are going from strength to strength, with numbers steadily increasing each week. People are coming along to unwind, stretch and take time out from busy lives. The sessions have been a great way for people to look after both their bodies and their minds and Cara has done a fantastic job of making yoga accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

We’re always looking to grow the community, so whether you’ve been to one event or you’re thinking about coming for the first time, this is your sign. Come walk, move, box, chat or simply show up. There’s always  a place for you here.
