September Round-Up
What a September it’s been at Fight or Flight! Here’s what’s been happening:
One Year as a Community Interest Company
September marked a major milestone for us as we celebrated our first anniversary as a Community Interest Company. We are truly overwhelmed by the continued support from the public, our sponsors and our dedicated volunteers. Each person involved plays an important role in making our community so special and this past year has been a remarkable journey of growth, connection and positive impact.
Fight or Flight Runs Reigate!
What a day. What a team🖤
This month, more than twenty people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities came together to take part in Run Reigate, representing Fight or Flight across the 5k, 10k and half marathon events. Smiles, laughs, sweat, tears, hard work, pushing each other, personal bests and joint wins. This is exactly what our community is built for.
From our runners to the helpers on the stall, every single person played their part🙌
We had 28 runners take part. For us, it’s never just about putting runners on the start line to raise money. Our people are our team. We train together, support each other and celebrate every single win, big or small. It was more than just a race; it was a demonstration of community spirit, resilience and courage as people faced both physical and mental challenges head on.
Thank you to everyone who ran, helped and donated.
An extra huge shoutout to Georgina from GW Fitness for our new Run Club and encouraging all of us in the lead-up and on the day!
New Run Club
Mondays just got a whole lot more active💪
We’re beyond excited to announce the launch of the Fight or Flight Run Club, led by G.W Fitness, kicking off every Monday at 6:30PM in Reigate Priory. These sessions are built for everyone. Whether you’re lacing up for your first 5K or chasing down a new PB, you’ll find the challenge you need and the support to match.
But this isn’t about racing. It’s about moving together. It’s about showing up for yourself, finding your rhythm, and building confidence week by week. Every stride, every breath, every cheer from the sidelines, it all counts.
At Fight or Flight, we believe movement is one of the best ways to support your mental wellbeing.
🏃♂️ When: Mondays, 6:30PM
📍 Where: Reigate Priory
💬 Who: Everyone is welcome - all fitness levels, all paces
So grab your trainers, bring a friend, and join us for a run that’s about more than just the miles.
Fight or Flight x Nescot & East Surrey College
We were proud to attend both Nescot and East Surrey College during their Freshers Weeks, meeting students, getting them involved and sharing what Fight or Flight is all about within the community. Following these events, we’ve now launched weekly boxing sessions at both colleges. These sessions are designed to help young people channel their energy in a positive way, build confidence and manage stress and pressure from exams and daily life.
Boxing, for us, is more than just a sport, it’s a tool for resilience, self-belief and connection. Supporting the next generation remains a key part of our mission and we’re committed to helping young people develop healthy habits for both body and mind.
Men’s Mental Health Walk
Our Men’s Mental Health Walk this month was our biggest one yet with over forty men joining us for a ten-kilometre walk filled with conversation, connection and community.
It was inspiring to see so many people come together to talk, support one another and experience the simple power of movement. From the early morning coffees to the laughter along the way, the event was a strong reminder that no one should face their challenges alone.
We walked for the men who’ve been to dark places and fought their way back.
For the men who show up every day for their families.
For the grafters building something for themselves and the people they love.
For the ones who keep going, even when no one’s watching.
Because being a man isn’t about being perfect, it’s about showing up.
Together, we can get through anything.
A huge thank you to our sponsors, RLR Roofing, for supporting the walk and helping us make it happen.
Looking Ahead
As we look back on our first year as a Community Interest Company, we are filled with gratitude and excitement for what lies ahead. Our focus remains on creating opportunities for people to connect, move and grow together, building a community that supports both mental and physical wellbeing.
We look forward to continuing this journey and making an even greater impact in the year to come.
